MISSION
Get The Floor was born from the idea of creating a space where artists from various disciplines and parts of the world can come together and share new experiences, nourish creativity, promote research, experimentation, and personal growth. A space of connection where minds unite build bridges between different cultures and perspectives, inspiring young dancers and new ideas.
From this concept, the GET THE FLOOR_extended program emerges, a two-year professional training course designed to offer dancers from different disciplines and styles the opportunity to deepen the awareness of their bodies, filling in any technical gaps, enhancing their skills, and getting closer to the world of performance and live shows.
Additionally, we also propose the GET THE FLOOR_weekend program, consisting of 8 open classes, each lasting three hours, tailored for freelance dancers and young talents who wish to delve into dance and gain new experiences while meeting our international guests.

2024/2025
Get The Floor Extended Program is a three-year professional training program for urban and contemporary dancers. It is conceived for those who want to deepen the study of various disciplines through the exploration of multiple movement languages. This is made possible thanks to the intervention of national and international artists active in the contemporary dance scene.
The program aims to train versatile and aware talents, ready to face the world of work in any role they wish to take on. Students will learn to manage their bodies and stimulate their creativity through practical and theoretical study sessions and workshops focused on performing.
Get The Floor meets the current needs of dancers, who are increasingly
freelancers and creators, offering a wide range of essential tools to thrive in a
constantly evolving professional environment.
The next auditions to access the program will take place on the following dates:
• Saturday, May 11th (application deadline April 28th)
• Saturday, June 15th (application deadline June 1st)
• Saturday, July 6th (application deadline June 22nd)
• Sunday, September 1st (application deadline August 18th)
To participate, send your application including:
• CV with portrait photo
• A video link of max 2 minutes of a choreography
• A video link of max 2 minutes of an improvisation including elements of
floorwork and standing work (no video editing)
The videos should be uploaded to your YouTube or Vimeo channel and viewable without a password.
Applicants must send an email to info.getthefloorex@gmail.com, respecting the deadlines of each session.
Candidates who pass the video selection will be invited to participate in the in-
person audition at The Gate Florence Dance Urban School, located at Via del
Padule 64/A, Scandicci (FI).
